"He would just bark non stop. Not even at anything moving or a noise. Just bark for the sake of barking. Non-stop. I couldn't go anywhere with him or leave him alone... I felt like a sitting duck" 

Sheryl recalls feeling a wave of anxiety as she read the words off the letter from her neighbours back in October of 2022. 

She felt a heated resentment towards them.. but most of all the frustration of trying almost everything under the sun to stop the constant barking with no results.

"I was scared... I was even losing sleep over this! If I didn't figure out something soon, It would have come down to 2 options, putting Charlie up for adoption or debarking him, neither of which I wanted" 

After adopting her golden retriever Charlie, Sheryl and her husband had been under constant scrutiny from her neighbours over the months.  

They recall spending a small fortune they could barely afford on hiring trainers, buying programs & products. 

"We tried crate training, citronella sprays, anti-stress chew toys, going on 3 walks a day,hiring trainers, changing his feeding time..."

But she mentions the worst one she ever tried was the anti-bark collars.

"this works partially, but I hate to leave it on all day. He puts himself in an infinite loop of barking, shocking himself, screeching, barking, over and over again. It sounds horrible and the poor thing is being tortured right in front of our eyes."

Sheryl doesn't remember exactly what she typed in that led her to the answer.

Dogs are capable of hearing sounds well beyond what our own ears can detect. 

While humans can generally hear sounds up to around 20,000 Hz, dogs can hear frequencies up to 65,000 Hz or higher.

Scientists have found that by using ultrasonic waves they can create sound that is well outsidehuman hearing but within range that dogs can perceive. This means that it's possible to use high frequency sounds to create behavioural changes in dogs.
